Faculty and staff who are married to each other and those with children could stand to lose some benefit funding and single parents could receive more under a proposed policy change that sparked heated debate Wednesday.
At the UI Staff Council meeting, Rick Borchard, a co-chairman of the Fund Retirement and Insurance Charter, presented proposed changes in how UI employees will receive their health, dental, life, and retirement insurance. Nearly 150 people were in attendance, and many tempers flared.

Needless to say, Domitrz's approach to this often-difficult subject material was striking and unconventional.

I am not going to lie to you, I was not excited for Iron Man. In fact, I was dreading seeing it. "Another crappy superhero movie, just what I need," was one of the thoughts going through my head. I hadn't seen a good traditional superhero movie since Spider-Man 2 and had since lost faith in the genre.

Once Student Senate finishes its New Business Wednesday, Student Association President Fred Ludwig will swear in President-elect Derek Kockler and Vice-President-elect Kyle O'Brien, who may face roadblocks from the start.
Much of what happens tonight depends on a vote by the outgoing Senate about restructuring some aspects of the Board of Directors of the Student Association, the non-elected student officials who help in governing campus.
