On Tuesday evening I attended an event sponsored by the Program Board (PB), BLAC, and supported by QU and FIA/ STARSA, to open a dialogue about the recent Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) results which revealed that 1 in 4 women between the ages of 14 and 19 have an STI, and that for young black women that statistic is 1 in 2.

With the exception of my RA's bulletin board, I don't remember seeing any information about, or resources related to, sexual assault throughout my freshman year at Macalester.

Soccer has been called the sport of the world, a transcontinental culture, unifier of nations. This Saturday, however, two students will use soccer for a new purpose: to fight AIDS. Saturday afternoon on Shaw Field, Mac will host the "Lose the Shoes" barefoot soccer tournament, a 3v3 fundraiser promoting AIDS awareness for children in Africa.

Ten police officers, 100 cars pulled over, zero DWI arrests.

Stearns County police and the state patrol participated in the first Stearns County DWI saturation on Division Street Friday.

The road between the Sauk River and Mississippi River was heavily patrolled with police officers wearing bright yellow vests looking for drunk drivers.
